Every year in Valdez, Alaska hosts the World Championships of Extreme Downhill skiing and is the "capital" of heli-skiing. This combined with the "Last Great Race: The Iditarod" and other popular Winter sports like snowboarding, back-country skiing, ice climbing and snowmachining, Alaska is a winter playground that last for eight months out of the year!
