Alaska Stock Advanced Search
Alaska Stock's "Advanced Search" features to the left provide you with multiple options to narrow your search for pictures. Below is a description of each criteria. - Orientation: Vertical vs. Horizontal
- Search Within Results: Add another keyword to your existing search to narrow your selection.
- Licensing type: Rights-Managed vs. Royalty-Free
- Releases: If the image must have a model and/or property release, click this checkbox
- On-line Purchase Only: If you must have the image right away and wish to purchase the image by purchasing it through our online e-commerce cart or by calling us during office hours 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Alaska time (11:00am to 9:00pm EST)
- Media Available: If you must have film or a certain format, check the box(es) you’d like to search for.
- Advanced Features: Alaska Stock offers some additional features to help you with your search. However, you can change your preference to use these features.
- Turn Clarification On: This feature notifies you that you are searching for a homonym and provides you the option to select which meaning of the word that you are searching for. Your options will be to click one of the specific meanings of the word or choose “Display Both” or “Display All” if you’d like to see them all. If you would prefer not to use this feature, un-check the box.
- Turn Confirmation On: If you’d like a pop-up screen to notify you that the image you selected was placed into your cart or lightbox, turn this feature on.
- Turn Captions on: When you do a search, the captions will appear under the thumbnails if "Turn Captions On" is selected. If you would like to have more images fit on the page, then un-check this box.
- Turn Similars Feature On: When you do a search, images that are part of the same series (very closely related or near identical images) will be grouped together if "Turn Similars Feature On" is selected. With this feature on, you can tell if an image has similar images by looking underneath any thumbnail. There will be two red arrows pointing left and right with an indicator of how many images are in the series:
- Images per page: Choose how many images show up per page on a search result. The lower the number, the quicker the entire page loads.
- Limit Search Results: Although your results selection may be smaller, the search results will load quicker. However, our very best and most recent images always appear first.
- Last 20 Searches: Use this feature to instantly recall your past searches
Additionally, Alaska Stock offers two different methods of searching.
You can browse by region by simply using our Alaska map to select the region, city, or national park that you would like to search. Also, you can search visually by browsing through our most popular categories.
